Traditionally, jatoba is used to increase stamina. It has none of the side effects of caffeine or ephedra.
Jatoba has demonstrated antifungal as well as antibacterial properties against a wide range of molds, yeasts, and microorganisms such as E. coli, Pseudomonas, and Staphylococcus. Clinicians are discovering that it is useful in cases of cystitis and prostatitis, often not for the reasons thought: these conditions may be associated with fungal infections. Jatoba is non-toxic, but it has a blood sugar lowering effect and should be monitored if there are blood sugar regulation issues.
